Prostitute Violet Otis is picked up by a kerb-crawling gangster who hires her to sing in his nightclub. Violet is betrayed by her lover not only with another lover but by his exposing of her to his cronies. "A slave to love, but not love's fool", she takes vengeance for this humiliation.
