Biography

Jaq Nguyen Victor is a filmmaker, stand up comic, playwright, and emerging therapist. Made of equal parts trans-whimsy and queer-wit, they are doing their Vietnamese-best to create original pieces that are playful and politicized. Jaq’s favorite work includes Drugs for Unicorns, Gender Assimilation: A Rebuttal, and Decolonizing is Like Hard. For their role in The Kid Thing at New Conservatory Theatre Center (NCTC), Jaq received a 2015 nomination for "Best Featured Actress" by the San Francisco Bay Area Critics Circle (SFBACC). They are also finishing an MA in Counseling Psychology from the Drama Therapy program at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS).

Jaq Nguyen Victor is a Vietnamese, queer, genderqueer whimsy-drenched unicorn who gallops around the bay area doing drama therapy, stand-up comedy, body work, and performance art.
