Nicola Desouza is a freelance writer and documentary filmmaker based in Mumbai, India. She has directed two short fims with noted Nepali transgender activists Badri Pun and Bhumika Shrestha.

Nicola Desouza is a freelance writer who has been published in print and online media. Her first short film. ‘I AM: The Transcender’ featuring transgender woman Bhumika Shrestha was followed up by ‘Latha Linga’ with transgender man Badri Pun during the devastating Nepal earthquake of 2015. Nicola continues to be inspired by minorities whether ethnic, sexual, racial, biological or religious.
