Biography

Raymond Rea is a brilliant Moorhead, Minnesota based filmmaker who specializes in personal documentary and experimental movies. He is also an instructor in the Film Studies program at Minnesota State University Moorhead. His personal journey and his films are often intertwined to great affect.

I am an active and award-winning tenured professor in film/video production. I have also repeatedly taught film history & criticism courses, and have worked with GLBT students and faculty members on various campuses and in varied college systems.

Raymond Rea is a filmmaker and writer. His plays have been produced at EXIT Stage Left, EXIT Mainstage, and EXIT on Taylor (all in San Francisco). Ray's most recent play, The Sweet New, was produced in regular season by Theatre B (Fargo, ND) His film and video work has screened nationally and internationally. He now teaches film/video production in Northern Minnesota.
