Steph (Stephanie) Camacho Casillas, a Gender Queer individual born and raised in the vibrant landscapes of Puerto Rico, embodies a multifaceted spirit deeply rooted in storytelling, advocacy, and financial expertise. Curetly collaborates in the trans-feminist network EspicyNipples, where they passionately contribute to nurture trans-feminist spaces and amplify powerful voices for transformative change. They embarked on their academic journey at the University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez, initially drawn to the world of Electrical Engineering. However, their heart was set on a path of creative expression, leading them to Atlantic University College. There, they immersed themselves in Cinematography, honing their skills in visual storytelling and graphic design. This educational shift was more than just a change of majors; it was a journey of self-discovery and cultural reclamation. Through their studies, Steph developed a deep-seated commitment to authentic representation and social advocacy. This passion shines through in their directorial endeavors, particularly in the celebrated LGBTIQ+ short films SAM (2017) and Mano Santa (2020). The impact of Steph's work extends far beyond the shores of Puerto Rico, resonating with audiences globally and earning recognition in countries spanning the United States, Peru, Australia, and beyond. Currently residing in Florida, Steph continues to navigate the intersection of identity, art, and activism, using their platform to challenge societal norms and pave the way for a more inclusive and equitable future. As they blend their creative pursuits with their dedication to financial stewardship and social justice, Steph exemplifies resilience, creativity, and unwavering authenticity in everything they do. Looking ahead, Steph's journey continues to evolve. They aspire to pursue a Master of Science in Information Technology at the University of the People, recognizing the transformative potential of technology in advancing social justice causes.
