Biography

Ilaria worked as photographer and filmmaker for the experimental company Mabu Mines in New York. She was associate producer of the documentaries series “The great pleasure hunt” directed by Elliott Erwitt for the H.B.O. She has directed and produced many documentaries that have recived national and international recognition. She is currently directing the doc “Italian Art Saga – 1965-1980” produced by Istituto Luce written with Ludovico Pratesi; developing the feature film “Wildfire” and the episodic series “Priceless Gift: The Life and Death of Jane Stanford”.

Ilaria Freccia worked with master photographer Gianni Berengo Gardin, Theater Company Mabou Mines. She was associate producer of the series ‘The great pleasure hunt’ directed by Elliott Erwitt for H.B.O. She wrote and directed many documentaries on women rights worldwide. She wrote the series ‘Wildfire’; ‘A priceless Gift: Life and death of Jane Stanford’ which are both in development. Her last feature documentary ‘La rivoluzione siamo noi (Art in Italy 1967/1977)’, participate in different Film Festival, and was released in theatre in 2021. She is currently shooting a documentary on legendary Italian art gallerist Lia Rumma and her collaboration with female artist: Vanessa Beecroft, Marina Abramovic, Marzia Migliora.
