Gee Imaan Semmalar is a trans activist,artist and educator. He has written extensively on trans issues in newspapers, online portals and academic journals for the past decade. He is part of trans led groups like LesBiT, Sampoorna and All Kerala Transmens' Association and Indian Federation for Trans masculine Persons. In 2012 , he directed, scripted and acted in Kalvettukal (Sculptures) a docu fiction on trans men in South India. In 2015 , he co-directed and scripted a stop motion animation named Won't the Real Transformers Please Stand Up. In 2014, he co-founded Panmai theatre with Living Smile Vidya and Angel Glady and travelled extensively with their debut production Colour of trans 2.0 in India and North America.
