Biography

Aidan Salier is a Los Angeles based composer, guitarist and songwriter. Recently, he scored Showtime’s Beyond the Aggressives: 25 Years Later, the follow-up to director Daniel Peddle’s seminal 2005 documentary The Aggressives. The film debuted on Showtime/Paramount+ in 2024 after its world premiere at Newfest 2023, and was nominated for Outstanding Documentary Feature at the GLAAD Media Awards. His previous score work in film/TV includes music for Try Harder! (Sundance 2021); New Yorker Documentary Since You Arrived, My Heart Stopped Belonging To Me (Mountainfilm Best Short Film 2021); and two seasons of IDA and Gotham Award-nominated series The F Word. Aidan’s background as a guitarist for indie rock bands in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles is a thruline from his cinematic works, to songwriting and producing collaborations with fellow composers and artists. Upcoming album Beach Games is a nine-song instrumental project inspired by summer days in the 90s, growing up minutes from the Pacific. Under the moniker Small Future, he is currently writing and producing sad funeral anxiety dream, a collection of songs around existential anxiety, transmasc coming-of-age and the “boring apocalypse”, with sonic roots in 90s indie and chamber pop. In addition to his scoring and solo work, Aidan is an enthusiastic amateur runner; you can often find him outside the studio, putting one foot in front of the other.
