Biography

He is a filmmaker and photographer. From 1989 to 1995, he made several acclaimed short films. Bye-Bye Souirty was his long narrative debut in 1998, which received numerous national and international awards. It was followed by the award-winning long narrative films: The Wind Horse, Tarfaya – Bab Lbhar (2003), and Waiting for Pasolini (2007), which won Best Arab Film Award in Cairo Film Festival (2007) among other awards. It was followed by an award-winning sequel, The Mosque, in 2010. The Desert Voices was his latest long narrative, and it was released in 2018
