Emmett is a queer and trans photographer, filmmaker, writer, actor and artist who views the many titles he embodies as pieces of a whole that work best together. His most recent feature script This Love has been compared to Andrew Haigh’s Weekend and Wong Kar-Wai’s Happy Together and was short-listed by the Barnstorm festival as one of the 150 Best Scripts of 2021. Emmett's groundbreaking series BROTHERS was on Indiewire’s Best of Indie TV list, called “among the boldest and frankest representations of trans male love on-screen to date” by The Advocate, and is loved by critics and audiences worldwide. He is a proud OUT100 Honoree and also won the Triple Threat Auteur award from the Toronto Webfest. Accolades include being a Finalist in the Nashville FF Screenwriting Competition and Quarterfinalist in Coppola’s Zoetrope Competition. He co-edited Finding Masculinity, an anthology about transitioning later in life, and won his first writing award in the 3rd grade. Hellbent on studying and making films in NYC, he only applied to NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts - early decision - and thankfully got in, spurring a life-long love affair with New York City, no matter where he is. His worked has screened at the LA Film Festival, Austin Film Festival, NewFest, Outfest and New Orleans Film Festival, among others.
